A most exciting All This Could End Twitter giveaway!

Thursday, March 14, 2013

The very fabulous Text Publishing are giving away a $150 Dangerfield voucher (plus a copy of the novel!) to celebrate the release of All This Could End!

All you have to do is tweet to them (@textpublishing) - 'what's the worst thing your mum has ever made you do?'

I get to judge the entries! How very exciting. So humour is appreciated. (And I'm sure if you don't have a mum in your life a mother-figure is just fine.)

The competition ends at 5pm AEST today (March 14th), so you have to get in quick. (And it's open to just Australian and New Zealand residents.)

Giveaway: Learning To Swim by Sara J Henry

Tuesday, February 15, 2011

If I’d blinked, I would have missed it. But I didn’t, and I saw something fall from the rear deck of the opposite ferry. It could have been a bundle of trash; it could have been a child-size doll. Either was more likely than what I thought I saw: a small wide‑eyed human face, in one tiny frozen moment as it plummeted toward the water.

This is the first paragraph of a brilliant book by a wonderful writer and friend, Sara J Henry. I had the pleasure of reading this book when it was a manuscript, and let me tell you, it's pretty fantastic.

And guess what! My blurb is on the back cover: "If The Usual Suspects and a Jodi Picoult novel had a love child, it would be Learning to Swim - a thought-provoking, evocative, and thrilling read." - Steph Bowe, author of GIRL SAVES BOY

This is so exciting. I really adored the book, but can't tell you half the things I love about it without giving the story away (it's a suspense novel, kids!). However! The book is released February 22nd, so you don't have to wait long in suspense till you can read it. And you can enter to score a copy of it right now!

Thanks to Sara, there are two hardcover, personally signed copies of Learning To Swim up for grabs - one for people in the US, one for people outside the US!

To enter, just leave a comment below! Include your country!

PLUS if you tweet a link to this contest (or include it in a blog post!), you'll get an extra entry! Just add a link to your tweet/post!

Contest closes and winners announced on February 20th!

Here's a little more about the novel:
While standing on the deck of the Lake Champlain ferry bound for Vermont, Troy Chance sees a small boy tossed over the side of a ferry going the opposite direction. Without thinking, she jumps to his rescue, setting off a chain of events that see her embroiled in a kidnapping plot with tendrils in the Adirondacks and Vermont as well as Ottawa and Montreal.

You can read the first chapter here or you can find Learning To Swim on Amazon. This is Sara's brilliant blog.

Winner of Girl Saves Boy contest!

Friday, September 17, 2010

I want to thank everyone for their lovely-amazing entries (lots of lovely book covers and trailers and written responses), and apologise for the massive delay in announcing the winner. Things have been a tad busy lately and I only remembered that I forgot about the contest last night. After consulting with my nan (hi nan!) and much deliberation, the winner chosen is: Catt! For her wonderful trailer.
